Community-Based Venues
Our Rapid HIV Testing service is available in the following community-based venues across Dublin City. This is a walk-in service and doesn’t require an appointment.

This free service is available at the times and venues listed below (No weekend services on Bank Holiday weekends):

What to expect:
The testing process:
- Once you’ve entered the testing venue you will be greeted by one of our testing team. They will ask you to scan a QR code which will link you to a booking form to complete on your own phone. Then you will be asked to complete a registration form on a separate device. All questions on the registration form are used for statistical information e.g. age, gender, country of birth etc.
- Once the form has been completed, let our team know.
- When it is your turn to test – you will be brought to our private testing area by a member of the team. Before proceeding with the test, you will have a brief chat. The main purpose of the chat is for the tester to ensure that this is the right time and place for you to test, to make clear how test results will be communicated and to offer you any further information or support you might want.
- Following this chat and if you would like to proceed with testing, you will sign a consent form which gives permission for the tester to perform the test. A small sample of blood is taken from a finger-prick – your result will be ready in 60 seconds.
- If you receive a negative result, you can speak to our testing team about the prevention options available to keep you negative. Receiving a reactive result is an indication of your HIV status. A follow-up blood test in a clinical setting is required to confirm the result – we are happy to organise this for you and any other information or support that you might require.
- A few days after your test, we’ll send you a text with a link to a quick feedback survey. We’re constantly looking to improve the service – so your thoughts on how we did is important – it takes just 2 minutes.
Good to know!
- Our rapid HIV testing is completely free of charge.
- Testing 6 weeks after your last potential exposure can give you a very good indication of your HIV status, however waiting 12 weeks (3 months) is recommended to be definite.
- If you’ve had a potential exposure in the last 72 hours, consider PEP.
